The Board Chairman of the Nigerian Marine Environment Protection Association (NIMEPA), Mrs. Funke Agbor, SAN, paid a courtesy visit to the Corporate Head Office of Flour Mills of Nigeria (FMN) Holdings, where she was warmly received by Engr. Festus Omotoyinbo, Managing Director of Apapa Bulk Terminal Limited (ABTL), and Mr. Sadiq Usman, Director, FMN Holdings. She was accompanied by NIMEPA’s Executive Secretary Ms Comfort Ekpe.

The visit was particularly timely, coming as NIMEPA marks the beginning of a new era in its marine environment protection and sustainability operations, in step with Nigeria’s growing drive for a blue economy, and as the Association expands its Board.
FMN Holdings and ABTL have been NIMEPA’s key and founding sponsors from inception, single-handedly investing in the Association’s environmental protection initiatives including the promotion of environmental sustainability, beach clean-up exercises, and clean-ocean and sustainability pledges, among others.
The courtesy visit was undertaken to formally recognise and commend FMN Holdings and ABTL as responsible corporate organisations for their contribution and excellent work in driving marine environmental protection and sustainability in Nigeria.
Speaking during the visit, Mrs. Agbor expressed NIMEPA’s deep appreciation for the steadfast partnership of FMN and ABTL, describing their support as the foundation on which the Association’s achievements including its recent registration as the first, and to date the only, African member of INTERMEPA have been built. She thanked both organisations for their vision and consistency, and reaffirmed NIMEPA’s commitment to building on this partnership as it enters its next chapter of growth.
NIMEPA extends its sincere and profound gratitude to Flour Mills of Nigeria (FMN) Holdings and Apapa Bulk Terminal Limited (ABTL) for their generosity, leadership, and enduring commitment to the protection of Nigeria’s marine environment. Their example continues to inspire the wider maritime and corporate community to invest in a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable blue economy for Nigeria.
